Frequently Asked Questions:
What is cosmetic tattooing/permanent makeup?
Cosmetic tattooing, also called permanent makeup, is the process of implanting colored pigment beneath the surface of the skin by a sterile, disposable needle to produce the appearance of enhanced beauty features.
Does it hurt?
A highly effective, topical lidocaine-based anesthetic is used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person, and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different but most clients say pain is minimal. If at any point during the procedure you need a break, just let me know! Keep in mind getting any type of tattoo during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
If you have an ideal shape, style, and color in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. Everything can be completely customized based on the client’s wants and needs. Please come with your eyebrows in their natural state. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we can remove them. You may fill in your eyebrows prior to your appointment if you wish so I can get a sense of what your daily makeup routine is like. I also request clients avoid prescription blood thinners (if possible) for 24 hours prior to their appointment. This also includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, fish oil, ALCOHOL and CAFFEINE.
Am I a candidate?
You cannot receive permanent makeup if you are:
Pregnant
Undergoing any form of cancer treatment
Taking blood thinning medications or antibiotics
Freshly tanned or sunburned
Sick with a cold/flu
Experiencing skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, acne or irritation in the area where you are being tattooed
